"Tatort" is a German Detective story translated into the "Dead Pigeon on Beethoven Street", "Dangerous Liaisons" is the original version of "Cruel Intentions". It is the story of love and betrayal - a very good movie although "Cruel Intentions was a miserable adaptation. "The Life and Loves of Beethoven" is a French biography of Beethoven, but focuses on the romantic companionships and friendships, while "Immortal Beloved" delves further into his madness, his depression, and his brilliance.

Answer: Tragedy/comedy

This is the mask that is resurrected for Salieri's harrassment of Mozart in the movie. Salieri planned on paying Mozart to compose a Requiem, then murder him and pass off the Requiem as his own work. Ouch.

Unknown to him, however, Mozart has already married against his father's wishes, and does not wish to work for the Archbishop again.

The other choices were roles played by other actors in the movie. Tom Hulce (Mozart) played Dominick, F. Murray Abraham (Salieri) played Omar, and Jeffrey Jones (Emperor Joseph) played Principal Rooney.

'This man had written his first Concerto at the age of four, his first symphony at seven, a full-scale opera at twelve!'
Question Reference: Quiz: Amadeus.
68 "The poor man can't concentrate for more than an hour. You gave him four."
Answer: Salieri

Mozart complains to Salieri when his opera "The Marriage of Figaro" is withdrawn from the national theatre after only nine performances. This is in large part due to the fact that the Emperor yawned while attending a performance of it, and Salieri is trying to explain to Mozart why the Emperor didn't like it.
69 When Mozart is sick in bed, Salieri asks if he can help. Mozart replies that there is something that Salieri can do. What is that?
Answer: Salieri physically writes the "Requiem" while Mozart describes it

The dictation scene is one of the most fascinating in the movie. During filming, Tom Hulce would deliberately leave lines out so that F. Murray Abraham's confusion would make Salieri look like a lesser musician.
70 Mozart wrote this part for his friend who created the libretto for "The Magic Flute".
Answer: Papageno

Papageno is the comic relief in "The Magic Flute" (rather like C3PO in "Star Wars").

All musical idiots, according to Mozart.
Question Reference: Quiz: Amadeus.
72 "All men are equal in God's eyes."
Answer: Father Vogler

This is the Father's unsatisfying response to Salieri's unhappiness over the lack of musical talent God gave him. Salieri attacks this response with a vengeance, detailing at length how God had indeed made himself and Mozart quite unequally.
73 Why does Mozart ask for Salieri's forgiveness?
Answer: He thought Salieri did not care for him or his music

While Mozart is dying of illness, Salieri says that he knows no greater composer than Mozart. This, plus the fact that Salieri is the only colleague who came to "The Magic Flute," convinces Mozart that unlike the Emperor's lackeys, Salieri has a genuine respect for his music.
74 According to the movie, from whom does Mozart get his inspiration for the Queen of the Night's famous aria?
Answer: Frau Weber (his mother-in-law)

I don't know if this scene has any historical basis, but it is a rich moment in the film! Originally, Frau Weber was Mozart's landlady. He fell in love with her older daughter who did not return his affections. Then he turned his attention to Constanze, the younger. Maria Magdalena Hoffdeml is the focus of great rumor and speculation concerning Mozart. Although she is never seen or mentioned in the movie, Maria was Mozart's piano student and alleged mistress. One of the Mozart death theories has Maria's angry husband attempting to murder her, poisoning Mozart, and committing suicide. Maria was pregnant during all this, supposedly with Mozart's child.
